Terms of use

Last updated: 7 October 2026

In short

  • You must have people's consent before you message them, and follow the rules of each channel.
  • Plans are paid in advance. Meta's message charges are paid by you directly to Meta.
  • Your data stays yours. You can cancel at any time. Plan fees are not refundable.

This summary is here to help. The full text below is what applies.

1. Agreement

These terms govern your use of watu.in and the watu product, operated by India-Shine Business Support Services (“watu”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account or using watu, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use watu.

2. Who can use watu

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract. If you use watu for a business, you confirm that you have the authority to accept these terms for that business.

3. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your login details confidential and for everything done under your account, including by team members you invite. Tell us at once if you suspect someone has accessed your account without permission.

4. Channels and messaging rules

When you connect a WhatsApp Business Account or any other channel, you confirm that you have the authority to do so for that business.

You alone are responsible for getting proper consent from every person before you message them, and for the content of every message you send. You must follow Meta's WhatsApp Business Messaging Policy and Commerce Policy, the rules of every other channel you use, and all applicable law, including India's telecom rules for commercial messages where they apply.

We may suspend or end access for accounts that send unsolicited messages or spam, or that break channel rules. A channel operator such as Meta may also restrict or ban a number on its own, which is outside our control.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use watu for anything unlawful;
  • send spam, phishing or deceptive messages;
  • upload malware, or try to disrupt or gain unauthorised access to watu;
  • scrape or systematically extract data from watu;
  • impersonate any person or organisation;
  • message people who have not agreed to hear from you.

6. Your content

You keep ownership of the data you put into watu: your contacts, messages, notes, files and the automations you build. You give us a limited licence to host, process and transmit that data only to provide watu to you. We do not use your content for our own marketing, or to train third-party AI models, unless you explicitly opt in.

7. Plans, fees and payment

Plans and Add-ons are billed in advance for the term you choose and renew until you cancel. Prices on watu.in exclude GST. We may change prices with notice before your next term begins.

WhatsApp message charges are not part of your watu plan. You add your own payment method in Meta's billing settings and Meta charges you directly at its own rates. Charges for other channels, where they apply, are shown in the product before you send.

Custom work that you ask for is quoted separately.

8. Free trial, cancellation and refunds

New accounts can start with a free trial of 7 days on the Go Getter plan. No card is needed and nothing is charged for it.

When a free trial ends without a paid plan, the workspace is paused: nothing is deleted, and it opens again when a plan is chosen. A paused workspace that never takes a plan is kept for 12 months and may then be deleted.

You can cancel at any time from your account or by writing to us; your plan stays active until the end of the term you paid for. Plan fees are not refundable. The cancellation policy has the details.

9. Suspension and ending the agreement

We may suspend or end your access if you seriously break these terms, misuse watu, break channel rules or do not pay amounts due, with notice where practical. You can stop using watu at any time. When an account ends, you can ask for an export or deletion of your data as described in the privacy policy.

10. Availability

We aim to keep watu available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. We will announce planned maintenance where we can. watu also depends on services we do not control, such as Meta's WhatsApp Business Platform, telecom operators and email providers.

11. Features marked “soon”

Features shown as coming soon are plans, not promises. Please buy on the basis of what is live today.

12. Intellectual property

watu, including its software, design and brand, is owned by us and protected by law. We give you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use watu for your own business while your account is active.

13. Disclaimers and limits of liability

watu is provided “as is”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss, including messages that fail to deliver or restrictions placed on your account or number by a channel operator. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us for watu in the 3 months before the event that gave rise to the claim.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of India.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will change the date at the top and, where the change is significant, tell Customers directly.
